It's crazy how excited I am about this. It seems The CW learned what worked and what didnt work with their 90210 reboot and are not going to make the same mistakes again. For starters, it seems this new Melrose Place actually has a storyline to start off with, so we're getting somewhere already. And it looks like one hell of a slick series, from what I've seen. There are a few set tour type things on the CW website and the sets look INSANE. They've definitely put some money into this, which gives me faith they're invested in it long term. |

I still hope they can bring back more favorites. Heather Locklear maybe later on if the show is a success. I think Heather was worried about going back only to have it fail.

Good news: the new Melrose got a decent review in my local paper here in Vancouver. Not that it means much ... but not every new show gets good reviews.

I myself can't wait for the series premiere! I will definitely be giving my thoughts next week! I am quite excited that Ms. Zuniga is coming back as Jo at some point....she was always one of my faves:)

I'm so excited I might pee. However, I hold the original Melrose to such high regards, I hope not to be disappointed. I'll have to go into it with no comparisons, if possible. But I agree - very stoked about Daphne Zuniga making appearances. If only they can get Heather Locklear to sign on! |

I heard Michael is back as well. I think the biggest question mark for me is Ashlee Simpson. I never knew she was an actress as well. I've been watching the original Melrose in anticipation. Season 3 is bananas. Seriously, in three days I've watched 12 episodes...

Allan, I did the same thing. I watched like 12 episodes in one weekend. Regarding the new series, I just got done watching and I have to say I feel kind of let down. It may take a few episodes to get into, but so far it's just meh. |

Meh is certainly right. One of the biggest hangups I had about Melrose 2.0 was the resurrection of the Sydney character and she's killed off in like the first five minutes of the series. Umm... what was the point? Oh, and Ashley Simpson, she left a stale taste in my mouth, to put it a nicely. Visually, she sort puts me in mind of Laura Leighton (Sydney) - only Laura is clearly the sexier of the two - but if this is who they are planning to match Colin Egglesfield character with, they should try again. I really wasn't feeling the Ella character at all. It definitely felt like the producers/writers were trying to go for that Amanda bitch type, which just kind turned me off the character from the get go. Interesting though that she seems to be a lesbian, or swinging both ways. I can totally see her seducing Jonah (the aspiring movie critic) down the line, or maybe she'll go for the girlfriend. Who knows?
The one thing I will say is there was a lot of ethnic variety, minus an african american character. I also like that they decided to make one of the characters Michael's son. I had forgotten that he had a child with Taylor McBride. Although I'm not sure where he got the surname "Breck" from, but whatever. Considering that Jamie Luner is horrifying viewers by continuing to portray the role of Liza on AMC, I'm guessing that Michael's wife isn't Lexi Sterling, who he seemingly got with toward the series' end. All in all, it wasn't bad, but it didn't leave me highly anticipating the next episode either. Next time, I think I'll watch OLTL live on SoapNet, and TIVO Melrose 2.0 I feel so inclined. I'm stoked for tonight. I only hope the Federer match is a bore, otherwise I will have a hard time turning!

It's like crack. I cant believe I've been in the dark about this genius piece of 90s television for so long. Now I have so much to get caught up on. Meanwhile, the new one was good, but it seemed very CW-ized. I liked Kate Cassidy's Ella, she may be Amanda Woodward's mini-me but I thought she pulled it off really well. I think some of the plots are quite obvious (like Ashlee Simpson's character clearly will turn out to be Syd's daughter or something), but for a pilot I thought it was pretty good. I'll definitely be tuning in again. But it doesn't have that old school Melrose feel of I MUST WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE NOW quite yet. That honor falls to the Real Housewives series. |

So the it was scheduled to come on last night at 10:00 pm. There is no way in heaven I could stay up until 11:00 pm on a work night. Thus, I had to tape it and will watch when I get home (assuming Nadal's match doesn't go crazy long.). It seems like this is the longest debute ever for me.
