Hey everyone,

Here's where you can start thinking about and posting your ideas for the 2009 Wrap-Up / End of the Year Issue. Since this issue will literally be released two months after our October 31st issue, I thought it might be good to start talks now so that there is enough time given between completing the required material and getting the issue pressed for a mass audience.

Regular features in the past have been the Best & Worst of the Year, Yearly Cap-Off (Deaths, Weddings, Births, etc...), Secret Santa Shuffle, Predictions and Previews for the new year, etc...

Selections from those areas along could fill up numerous pages, but if you have any more ideas for what you would like to see in the final issue of the year in terms of news, features and more, post them below.

Cheers,

perhaps we could do a year in review in 2 parts.

Part 1: Each series breaks down what happened this past year on their series.

Part 2: We could a year in review for APN overall. We could let people know what series were cancelled, which ones are new, which ones came back to the net.

Also as writers/producers we could talk about what we want for our series in the new year, and what he hope to accomplish in the new year.

^ Those are nifty ideas.
I like the idea of a Best & Worst concept for each show. I would suspect each producer can do their own. That way no one would be offended if someone else said something about their series was "worst" wink.gif

For the round up, we could ask each producer if they believe in New Year's Resolutions, why or why not?

I still love the idea of a synopsis for each series.

It has been crazy the last few weeks with school and everything that being said I echo what Pat has suggested as what Dallas has said so far. I am sure that when my head is clear and after the Oct. issue I will have more input on the matter.

I really do like the idea of a series synopsis.I also like the idea of a review for the network overall as well.

I love the APN review. Maybe we could do it in a way where each month we have one or two big points that happened here at the network and have that as our review.

I will also say that I agree that the aforementioned features would be a great addition to the magazine. You guys have really brainstormed and have some great ideas brewing!

I will also tackle the "Where are they now" feature again (If that's okay) as I do keep in contact with many that used to be quite active in the online series community that have seemingly disappeared. I think it's such a great future and I was so honored to tackle on the piece for the latest issue.

I always find the Best & Worst an enjoyable thing to do for me, and I think it would be neat if we could diversity it more by having other producers offer their own picks for shows other than their own. But that gets into all kinds of politics that perhaps we're not ready for at this stage.

I agree with the majority. These are some really solid ideas. I like Dallas extension of making it sort of a month breakdown, we can probably design it like a two-spread calendar with different high and low points for the year. Comings, Goings and Returns should be easy enough to fit in. Probably highlighting any anniversaries, the gala, landmark episodes, etc...

We can also reintroduce the recaps section to appease some of our members.

I wasn't planning on having WATN for the last issue of the year, but if you really really want to do it again, then I won't stand in your way. The feature appears to be one of our biggest hits, so it keeps the momentum going with at least one per issue.

Are we doing another round of AP top 5?
I would love to make this in every issue next year. WE can discuss that in the group meeting, but I think it's great addition.

If I were someone with a little less tact, I could answer this question in a way surely to offend, but I will say say "no" on the Top 5 for the Issue. Only because this is an issue that is really more of a retrospective recap of the year and will also include selections of Best and Worst Characters from each series. I think it will be overkill to include the Top 5 as well. Not to mention the dire time constraints we're in with this being holiday madness hell.

However, I do like the feature and support having it in every regular "news" issue. We will definitely have to work on promoting the feature more and doing everything to make sure we're allowing all potential readers to vote.
